Elvis Wamalwa

Elvis Wamalwa is a boy in the eighth grade who was living with his aunt in the Kawangware slums. He had been struggling both academically and with his health, which raised concern for Heart to Heart Orphans Children Centre (HTHOCC).

His guardian shared that Elvis had begun disappearing from home and was not attending school regularly. For an entire month, he missed classes, which led to poor performance on his exams. He would often return home late at night, putting his safety at risk.

At the same time, his aunt became seriously ill and partially paralyzed, leaving her unable to care for him or monitor his progress. When HTHOCC spoke with Elvis, he revealed that he avoided going home because there was no food. Instead, he would go to the market at night and search for discarded food after vendors had left.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, his aunt asked HTHOCC to take him in so he could receive proper care and supervision. Despite limited resources, he was welcomed into the Rescue Centre. Since then, Elvis has been in a safe environment, and he is now doing well in school.
